My family and I had to stay here while we were having our house totally remodeled. This is the next best thing to being in your own home. The room we stayed in was two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom which was nice with four of us staying there. It had a full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot, cookware and dishes. The dining table was small but enough room for 4 people. Nice living room with a couch, a coffee table which i used while eating so I could watch the tv. It had a nice size flat screen tv, also had a nice fireplace in the living room also which did work but didnt use real wood, but did look like you had a real fire going. Each of the bedrooms had their own tv so we brought the kids games from our house and hooked them up so they would have something to play on so they would feel more at home. It had a indoor pool which they played in every night. It had a gas grill outside for everyones use, It had a small basket ball court so you could go shoot some hoops. For people who like to get in their daily exercise they have a exercise room for that. The staff here will make you feel like family . The free breakfast here is really good, I packed me up one and took to work with me every day, everyone at work thought I had stopped at I HOP or Dennys. So if you want to stay at a really nice Hotel while you are here in Waco this is the Best!!!!

This hotel is nicely situated in Waco close to the Interstate is reasonably priced and is near some casual restaurants and pubs. Just be aware they no longer have their light food service on Thursdays and beware buying anything from the snack selection near the desk as they are incredibly expensive. For instance a 4 ounce mini package of Wheat Thins goes for $3.50.

Stayed at this hotel for a conference the same weekend as the December 2013 ice storm and the final football game at the old Baylor University stadium. The town was in absolute chaos. The hotel staff was gracious, concerned for everyone's safety and made the 5 day stay a delight. The accommodations were perfect and extremely comfortable. The morning breakfast was very good and surprisingly sumptuous. The cook was entertaining and wanted to make sure the food was good and if there was anything he needed to add to the menu. We attend this conference every year and will definitely stay there in 2014 and beyond.

I lived in Waco for 4 years, while attending Baylor in the 90s. One gets used to the "older" feel of Waco. When I booked our hotel stay at Residence Inn in Waco, I assumed I would get a hotel that represented how long it has been in Waco. Needless to say, that was not the case. From the moment I arrived on the grounds, I was impressed with the clean look of the hotel. The entrance was clean, the hotel receptionist welcomed me with a Texas-sized smile, and we were given our room in under 10 min - at 10:30 in the morning. I was expecting to store my luggage for a few hours. The room beat all of our expectations - clean lines, updated furniture, current appearance, clean. We brought our kids on this stay and even the oldest (a bit spoiled) said it was better than the Gaylord (the rooms). Honestly - I have to say she has a point. We loved the indoor pool and spa. Perfect for our late fall stay. Thank you for changing my expectations!

We spent three days here hanging out with our two sons, ages 19 & 14, so this was basically a mini vacation for us. We often use a time share condo at Branson, Mo, so we were looking for a similar experience. We loved staying here and would recommend it heartily. We use the hotel as our base and visited some of the local sights in Waco. Our preference was to cook meals as a family rather than dining out. The savings helps justify the more expensive room cost, plus given that our son is stationed at Ft Hood, we wanted some relaxing down time so the boys could play video games, watch movies, do board games etc. Having the extra space, as well as the 2 bedrooms each with their own bathroom, gave us enough space to spread out as various family members did what interested them most (reading, laptop use, cooking, video games). DVD player was available free of charge at the front desk for a movie marathon. The staff was pleasant and polite. The free included breakfast would put many a franchise restaurant to shame. The selection was excellent, the food fresh, one couldn't ask for more. WiFi worked great, with no problems getting connected, connection speed was good, which is important with multiple laptops, smart phones, etc. My 19 year old wasn't able to connect his X-Box though, apparently the hotel authentication process requires a web page login, something an X-Box isn't capable of. We survived though, just something Marriott Hotels may wish to consider. He made do though, no harm done. The kitchen would benefit from a couple of pot holders, a pizza pan, and a few Tupperware dishes for leftovers. There was a large comfy lobby area with fireplace, couches, etc to spread out, a well equipped exercise room and more, a great looking, well cared for facility. The boys enjoyed a some one-on-one on their basketball court. We will definitely be looking for a room here next time we come to visit our son at Ft. Hood, we greatly enjoyed our stay.

We were in town for a conference and this was a suggested hotel. What an awesome place to stay. The room was fantastic, the staff were super friendly and anxious to please, and breakfast was very good every morning. We also were lucky enough to be here on Monday-Wednesday nights and enjoyed the delicious evening meal. This is not an inexpensive place to stay, but when you factor in the meals it is well worth it.

I am a fan of Marriott properties but this hotel is a really nice one. From the friendly check in by Robert Reyes, the AGM, and Stella, the desk person, our stay was great. The hotel is located close to many attractions such as the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and the Dr. Pepper Museum. It is a very clean property. The lobby, the dining area, the hallways and even the stairs were kept cool and clean. There is an exercise room, pool with spa, and several outdoor areas, and though we did not use any of them, they were all clean and well maintained. Our assigned room (302) was a one bedroom apartment style. It was spotless and fresh. However, we happened to be in the room when a train passed by and the noise was substantial. We asked to change rooms and Robert and Stella immediately moved across the hall to 301 which was not as exposed to the tracks. No static, no "that's the only room available, no issues at all. In fact every person on the staff we encountered had a smile and a greeting ready for us. Our second room was as clean and nice as the first in a studio arrangement. This is a Residence Inn, full kitchen with all utensils, sink, microwave, plates, glasses and refrigerators with ice makers in all rooms. Every aspect of the room, with one exception, was fine. The exception was the bath fan; it sounded more like a garbage disposal grinding bones. I mentioned this during checkout and the desk staff noted the issue and said maintenance would take a look. After our check in, the evening reception (Mon-Wed) began at 1730. They call the Wednesday event "The Barbecue" and it was fantastic. Angus beef hamburgers, beenie-weenies, two styles of pototato salad, asian cole slaw, corn, green salad, all necessary condiments, superb brownie cake and keg beer and 6 different types of wine. Wow! The preparing chef was very friendly and kept the food buffet line fully stocked until the end at 1930. You don't need to go out for dinner, believe me! Breakfast the next morning was equally satisfying. From the good morning greetings from the staff to the quality of the scrambled eggs, sausage, grits and all other food and drink items, to the spacious dining area, our experience was enjoyable. This hotel, rated a category 3 by Marriott, is close to the top of the best hotels we have stayed in. If you are spending time in Waco, give this place a try. I doubt that you will be disappointed.

I stayed 3 nights over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, while visiting relatives in the area. This was my first time in Waco and the town was a lot smaller than I had expected. Given that, my room at the Residence Inn made me feel like I was still in a big city. I was in a one-bedroom suite in room 319, with a view of the roof and inner courtyard. The layout maximized space and the room was comfortable. I liked that the AC gave much-needed cool air, given the outside temperatures. After sightseeing and visiting with relatives all day, I very much looked forward to returning to my room at the end of the day. The breakfast buffet was excellent and very similar to the fare they served at the Residence Inn in San Diego: eggs, sausage, potato pancakes, home fries, cereals, fruit, juices, bagels, and muffins. They switched off the breakfast meats, serving sausages one day, turkey bacon on another day, and sausage scramble on another day. The one thing that was different from San Diego is that they do serve grits at this Residence Inn. The location is excellent. This Residence Inn is within blocks to many of the touristy attractions: Dr. Pepper Museum, Texas Ranger Museum, Waco Suspension Bridge and Martin Luther King, Jr. Park. It is also very close to interstate 35 and Cameron Park Zoo. The staff were wonderful. I was warmly welcomed upon check in and my questions accurately answered. My room was always cleaned and the lady minding the breakfast buffet was friendly and greeted me every time. I used my Marriott Rewards points for this stay, but I would gladly pay the full price for the type of accommodations and service I received.

My girlfriend and I were here for a horse show in Waco and she got here a day before me and had let me know how much she liked the room. I had stayed here probably 5 or 6 years ago, and no doubt, they've undergone some renovations for the better. Our room, 301 in the upper corner, was very spacious, even with the kitchen and large sofa. There is plenty of room to maneuver for two and would probably good for a crew of 3 if one was willing to sleep on the couch. I slept like a rock in the soft bed. Just know that it is soft. In the heating up of a late spring, it's good to know the air conditioner was cranking. Very very good. The choices for quality hotels in a small city like Waco are typically going to be limited, but if you're looking for a big comfortable room, this is hard to beat in Waco. Having stayed at the Clarion and the Quality Inn years ago (which I don't even know if they are still open), this Residence Inn beats them, hands down.
